Kids with Type 1 do not sit on the bench because of a CGM or pump. They ski, swim, shoot hoops, and run practices – with a little extra gear and a plan for lows.
This page is our sports gear map: what we pack for general activity, what changes in the cold, and what helps in the water or on the court. Use it as a starting list, then tune it with your care team for your kid’s sport and plan.
Not medical advice. Every kid and care plan is different. Check with your diabetes care team before changing how you manage T1D, and always follow their sick-day, dosing, and device instructions.

What sports actually change
Activity pulls glucose down for a lot of kids – sometimes during the game, sometimes hours later. Heat peels adhesive. Cold freezes juice boxes and can stress insulin. Water and sweat test every overpatch you own.
